Having used two Xerox Phaser 6125 N printers in our offices since July 2009, we have some experience with the day-to-day use of this printer.
The Xerox 6125 is a fairly compact colour printer that has a footprint of about 19 inches square. We have the standard, network enabled model N for use on our office with single
500 page tray. The printer can connect via USB or RJ45 network cable, however, we use a direct connection on both printers. Using the USB, connection is very easy - just plug and go with our Windows 7.
Print quality is very good with sharp text always produced. We do not print many graphics using the colours but what I have seen has been of good quality in terms of colour balance. You would not want to use this printer to print
high-quality photos as it is not designed for that purpose. An ink jet would be better suited to the task.
One thing we like is the short warm-up time to print. We never seem to wait long for a printout. It takes 9 seconds from clicking print until the printed page arrives on the top tray.
Occasionally, the printer automatically does a calibration cycle that takes about 20 seconds, however, this is not a problem. The standard print size is A4 although the paper tray will take smaller sizes as it is adjustable. There is also
a front loading slot for single sheet loading such as envelopes or a quick, double-sided print. This can be a problem sometimes as the Xerox 6125 sometimes thinks there has been a paper miss-feed. This is cured by popping open the front cover and closing again. A little annoying sometimes.
The toner cartridges seem to last quite well. The black does 2000 pages and the colours 1000 pages each. Of course we use our own toner cartridges and we get them at cost-price so it is very cheap running costs for us as a toner retailer. However, the low cost of compatible toners
makes these printers very economical in terms of running costs. If you want to see toner prices please see Xerox 6125 toner.
